JOB SUMMARY: This position is in Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA), Office of Site Remediation Enforcement (OSRE), Policy and Program Evaluation Division (PPED). About OECA This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis. EPA offers work-from-home and work schedule flexibilities as described in the Benefits section. MAJOR DUTIES: You will: Serve as the Division Director and supervisor of the division to manage nationally significant or precedential cases, prepare overall litigation strategies, provide technical and litigation expertise, and provide advice on settlements for adherence to national policy and adequacy of results. Exercise a full range of supervisory personnel management responsibilities over subordinate staff that include: directing, coordinating, and overseeing work; assign and determine responsibilities and priorities; evaluate employee performance; promotes teamwork, cooperation and quality. Provide expertise in CERCLA, RCRA, and OPA enforcement matters in support of a comprehensive site remediation hazardous waste and oil spill enforcement program. Oversee and provide technical direction to staff who have contract responsibility, ensuring Agency contract management policies and Federal regulations are followed. You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
