JOB SUMMARY: This position is a Fish and Wildlife Biologist, GS- 0401-11/12 working in Hadley, MA for the R5-Assistant Regional Director-Ecological Services. MAJOR DUTIES: The position is located in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Northeast Regional Office, within the Ecological Services Program area and the Division of Endangered Species. As a Fish and Wildlife Biologist your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Serve as the Regional Energy Coordinator with an initial focus on offshore wind power development. Lead a cross-program team and serve as the Region's point of contact for the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management for all offshore wind power projects in the Northeast Region. Coordinate the early identification of resource concerns and information needs, lead the development of analyses and conservation measures to satisfy consultation requirements under Endangered Species Act section 7 and other authorities, and track and report project status. Coordinate activities with Ecological Services Field Offices, other programs, other Regions, Headquarters, and the Solicitor's Office.
