For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $96,000 - $144,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Position Summary
- As an Open-Source Software (OSS) and Standard Setting Organization (SSO) Paralegal in the IP Operations team, you will join a talented and collaborative group of in-house lawyers and legal professionals
- Manage and docket OSS license review requests in the OSS license management system
- Be the administrator of such system
- Contribute to the improvement of OSS license review process
- Manage SSO membership database
- Be one of the administrators of Schneider Electric IP Management System
- Backup to support global IP paralegals
Roles & Responsibilities
- Timely management of OSS component review requests and related deadlines for distribution, release and contribution by ensuring that requests are promptly docketed in the OSS license management system
- Contribute to the definition and implementation of the OSS license management system and related review processes, including but not limited to:
- Creating new matters
- Recording all incoming and outgoing correspondences
- Uploading documents
- Verifying and recording deadlines
- Closing matters and their deadlines, as appropriate
- Generating corresponding reports
- Administrator of the OSS management tool
- Management of SSO memberships and Standards-related IP contributions (e.g., Standard Essential Patents (SEPs))
- Maintain latest OSS and SSO policies and review procedures
- Back up administrator for Schneider Electric IP Management System
- Providing support in configuration of Schneider Electric IP Management System, its testing and implementation, as needed
- Archiving of electronic and paper documents related to the foregoing activities, as needed
- Providing support for global Paralegals as needed

Qualifications
- At least 2+ years of experience in tool management and process documentation and operations, specifically documenting and process flow within tools
- Basic understanding of OSS licenses and risks
- Basic understanding of SSO purpose and risks
- Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams; and
- Fluent in English, written and spoken
Skills & Abilities
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.
- Friendly collaborative communication and interpersonal skills, oral and written, that suit a diverse and inclusive culture within a multinational organization
- Strong analytic skills to identify data integrity concerns
- Ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly and capable of working on own initiative or as part of a team
- Working knowledge of English (oral & written)
Preferences
- Fluent in French or Chinese, both written and spoken
- At least 2+ years of experience in tool management and process documentation and operations, specifically documenting and process flow within tools of in-house experience (within a legal department or IP department)
- At least 1+ years of experience in a corporate environment
- At least 2+ years of experience as an IP administration assistant
- Practical experience of patent and design portfolio management databases or system administration
- Experience in big data transformation management of process flows for global teams
