JOB SUMMARY: This position is part of the Office of Environmental Management - Headquarters, Department of Energy. As a Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist, you will serve as the Environmental Management Headquarters Supervisor responsible for oversight and assistance at all EM sites. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist, you will: Direct, coordinate and oversee work. Advise the staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher-level management. Selects candidates for positions taking into consideration skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and diversity objectives. Serve as the agency technical representative and nationally recognized expert and consultant on emergency management and preparedness with Stakeholders. Coordinate joint Federal and Federal/State programs covering a broad spectrum of technical activities in emergency management and preparedness Plan, manage, and direct the development of pertinent program guidance to achieve policies, objectives, and milestones associated with EM emergency management and preparedness program activities. Develop and present briefings to the DOE Emergency Management Coordinating Committee and the DOE Emergency Management Advisory Committee with current information on the status of emergency management and preparedness at EM sites and presents the EM position regarding Homeland Security Presidential Directives.
