The Environmental Assessment Intern will have the opportunity to work with an experienced team of environmental scientists, geologists and engineers while participating in field and office activities involving environmental permitting, environmental impact assessments; wetlands delineations; environmental site assessments; sampling programs; remedial activities; and data interpretation, analysis, and reporting.Imagine an internship where you get the chance to apply knowledge gained in the classroom to a real-life environment and then multiply that tenfold. We look for people who want to grow, support, think and produce. This is a paid internship.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Assisting with environmental permitting and licensing.
- Assisting with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
- Assisting with sampling programs involving soil, groundwater, surface water, and sediment, soil.
- Assisting with the advancement of soil borings and groundwater monitoring well installation, water level measurements, elevation surveying, aquifer testing, and preparing soil boring logs and well construction diagrams.
- Assisting with remediation projects.
- Assisting with operation, monitoring, and maintenance of remedial systems.
- Conducting project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.).
- Tabulating, analyzing, and interpreting data, and preparing figures.
- Assisting with the preparation of reports, work plans, correspondence.
- Learning and following standard operating procedures while continuing to develop skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Skills Required:- Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in Environmental Science, Geology or related field, or related degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper training a plus.
- Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills are mandatory.
- Must be a team player and possess a collaborative attitude.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
- Be self-motivated.
- Prior internship and/or related experience are a plus.
