Salary Range: $75,000- $90,000 annually
Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications/education, and other factors. The salary range is not necessarily reflective of the actual total compensation that may be earned nor promises any specific pay for any specific employee. The primary function of this role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships adhering to the Fisher Clientship philosophy.
- Multi-state regulatory permitting
- Agency consultations
- Impact assessment and mitigation planning
- Restoration and mitigation site planning
- Report preparation and interactions with state and federal agencies
- Develop strong working relationships with a variety of clients and staff including various regulatory agencies
- Prepare permitting applications to agencies and lead/support permitting deliverables on projects in compliance with environmental regulatory requirements, including USACE Section 404/10, 401 Water Quality Certification, SEQRA, Article VII Siting of Major Utility Transmission Facilities, ORES 94c and NYSDEC land use regulations
- Prepare environmental reports including but not limited to: wetland and watercourse delineation, invasive species, tree survey, initial habitat assessment survey, and SPCC plans
- Achieve all regulatory, siting, and environmental requirements and approvals needed to achieve project regulatory compliance, guidance and policy adherence, and Client objectives.
- Assisting/Leading environmental permitting tasks, often working as part of a larger team while managing client experiences and expectations
- Provide support for routine and complex environmental investigation and regulatory compliance tasks based on input from the project team including but not be limited to in-depth field or site investigations, regulatory or literature research, mitigation design, agency interface communications and associated field work.
- Perform site and field work, including data collection, field-measured documentation, existing facility inventory, and site investigation
- Assist in preparation of proposals and cost estimates for environmental projects
- Coordinate with engineers, resource agencies and project agency as required
- Other duties assigned
Education & Experience
- Experience in some or all the following activities: wetland delineation experience, wetland and stream quality assessments, wetland and stream mitigation design and monitoring, endangered species habitat assessments and rare plant surveys
- Experience with state wetlands regulatory permitting programs in NY and PA as well as Clean Water Act Section 401/404 permitting preferred
- Experience leading state and federal jurisdictional determinations in NY preferred
- Experience with state wetlands regulatory permitting programs in one or more of the following a plus: PA, NJ, CT, MA, OH and WV
- Experience working on Article VII and 10/94C projects preferred
- Experience working on linear projects preferred
- Experience working with oil and gas clients on spill response, remediation, and/or reclamation projects preferred
- Experience performing Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan inspections required
- Experience with statistics, ArcGIS or AutoCAD required
- The following trainings are required on or after hire: OHSA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training; NYSDEC 4-Hour Erosion and Sediment Control Training, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 40-hour wetland delineation training
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must have an understanding of municipal, state, and federal environmental regulations, permitting and policy in NY, PA, and surrounding states
