As an Environmental Intern, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continually improving Micron’s environmental permits, programs and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations. The individual will be collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, external organizations, and interfacing with regulatory agencies on environmental compliance issues.
Primary job responsibilities include the following:
- Ensure Micron’s environmental programs and procedures are effective, efficient, and conform to the management system and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in achieving site's permitting goals by participating in reviews and providing input to plan, execute, and monitor projects.
- Be effective at presenting (both written and verbal) environmental matters to Micron Leadership and local, state, and federal agencies.
- Meet requirements to conduct accurate environmental calculations and submit vital reports to regulatory agencies.
- Conduct applicability determinations on environmental regulations.
- Make objective decisions supported by verifiable facts.
- Coordinate, manage, and conduct environmental walkthroughs, inspections, and audits to ensure operations comply with procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Collect, evaluate, and communicate environmental-related metrics and performance measurements.
- Identify, develop, and provide environmental training in accordance with regulations and company & department objectives.
- Provide customer support and technical expertise for various environmental issues and environmental regulations.
Works on assignments to develop, implement and maintain programs designed to minimize deficiencies and ensure compliance with existing Federal, State and local laws, regulations, licenses, permits and ordinances pertaining to environmental controls at the organization's facilities. Assists in preparing technical reports based on the interpretation of data, observations, and current regulations regarding inspection findings and recommendations for corrective action. Keeps current on specific requirements imposed by government agencies through reading of the statutes, regulations, licenses, and permits; with oversight and consultation from members of the Environmental Department.
