The Department of Civil Engineering at Boise State University invites applications for a full-time nine-month tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level beginning August 2025. The priority application deadline is November 1, 2024. We seek to hire an innovative educator-researcher focusing on environmental or structural engineering; other disciplines will not be considered. Candidates should have an earned Ph.D. (or similar terminal degree) in Civil Engineering or a closely related field focusing on environmental or structural engineering by the time of appointment.

The Department of Civil Engineering at Boise State University has approximately 240 undergraduate students and 25 graduate (MS) students. An interdisciplinary PhD in Engineering program is available for civil and mechanical engineering students. Ten faculty members provide inclusive and engaging educational and research experiences to develop sustainable and resilient engineered and natural systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
We are searching for an engaging and collaborative educator and researcher. The successful candidate is expected to implement inclusive, evidenced-based teaching and learning approaches to ensure the academic success of students; develop and maintain an externally funded research program engaging Boise State students; contribute to service activities within the university and through professional organizations that are aligned with faculty activities; and foster and maintain interdisciplinary collaborations and a collegial environment.
Qualifications:
By the time of appointment, candidates should have earned a Ph.D. (or similar terminal degree) in Civil Engineering or a closely related field focusing on environmental or structural engineering.
Preferred qualifications include industry experience, securing extramural funding to support research activity, a strong record of scholarly publications, and teaching experience in higher education. Candidates with a professional engineering license are preferred.

Salary and Benefits:
