Job Function
Reporting into the VP, Associate General Counsel, the Sustainability Analyst Intern will be based in Houston, Texas and will be responsible for Company’s management and analysis of enterprise data that support Company’s sustainability goals, including those related to labor and employment, ethics, environment, health and safety, and sustainable procurement.
Responsibilities
- Collect, track and validate Company’s Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and analyze progress against the Company’s reduction and management strategies.
- Coordinate and manage Life Cycle Analyses for Company products
- Manage waste and other environmental inventories, as well as support locations’ environmental and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting activities.
- Assist with Supply chain review management and supplier rating metrics.
- Support the data collection and production for the annual sustainability report.
- Support the development and implementation of data tracking tools and dashboards, including sustainability data management and rating and reporting systems and tools.
- Research global sustainability and GHG reporting trends, including sustainability ratings and rankings, reporting frameworks, sustainability reporting standards and disclosure legislation and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Actively participate and engage as a member of the CSR Committee. .
Required Experience
- Successful completion of 2 years towards Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Sustainability, Data Science or related field.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools in order to analyze data, type correspondence, prepare reports and presentation of materials.
- Experience in change-management, process improvement, and public speaking.
- Ability to compile, review, and analyze complex data and compile summary reports, dashboards and make recommendations based upon conclusions drawn from data review
Preferred Experience
- Master’s and Ph.D. candidates encouraged to apply
- Related educational/working experience with sustainability, data analysis, or a related area.
Additional Internship Details:
- Internship will last a minimum of 6 months, with the potential to extend up to 12 months. A full-time position may be available upon completion.
- Position will be supported hybrid, non-exempt (hourly) 20 hrs. per week, at our US headquarters in Houston, TX.
- Non-local candidates may be considered provided they meet the required qualifications as listed above and understand they are responsible for any travel and/or temporary housing in order to report to the assigned office.
