We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our Safety, Health and Industrial Hygiene Practice
**Typical activities, include but are not limited to:**
- Collect various types of industrial hygiene samples under chain-of-custody procedures.
- Conduct compliance audits and inspections to include hazardsurveillance, job hazard analysis, training program development and implementation.
- Interpretation and identification of applicable EHS and OSHA regulations.
- Updating of existing or developing new EHS programs.
- Data entry and analysis.
- Report writing.
- Travel to client sites (mostly within the DC metro area)
**Location**
This position is based out of the firm's Mid-Atlantic Regional Office in Alexandria, VA
**Requirements**
- Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Earth Science, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working in EHS or occupational health and safety.
- Working knowledge of EHS and OSHA regulations.
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) credential or willingness and ability to obtain it shortly after hire. Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) is also acceptable.
- Industrial hygiene sampling/monitoring experience, preferred.
- Asbestos inspector or project monitor experience and licensureis a plus.
- Must be able to manage multiple and competing priorities and complete tasks on-time in a dynamic environment.
- Possess strong technical, interpersonal, organizational and communications (written and oral) skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position (i.e., ability to work in the field, work outdoors, lift 50 lbs., etc.).
- Must be able to obtain, as a minimum, Position of Public Trust and Federal Protective Services Favorable designations.
- Other clearance requirements for access to Federal facilities may be necessary and will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check, pre-employment physical examination, and drug-screening to include cannabis and other regulated substances under Federal law.
- Valid Driver's License with no major infractions.
