Your work environment at EXP
EXP is currently searching for a Geo-Environmental Engineer / Project Manager to join the Geo-Environmental and Soil Management Team of our Geotechnical Group in the Markham, Ontario office.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Project management duties focused on Phase One and Two Environmental Site Assessments, remediation and other associated work in accordance with applicable CSA Standards as well as Ontario Regulation 153/04 requirements in support of due diligence and development projects;
- Review preliminary site information and develop suitable scope of works for environmental assessment programs to meet the project objectives;
- Oversee fieldwork and prepare reports required to support the filing of Record of Site Conditions;
- Develop site remediation programs using various insitu, exsitu and excavation techniques in accordance with O.Reg. 153/04;
- Develop practical project-specific solutions and recommendations based on clear understanding of client and project requirements;
- Provide Qualified Person (QPESA) services for earthwork projects in accordance with Excess Soil Regulation, Ontario Regulation 406/19, including coordination and preparation of Assessment of Past Use Report, Soil Characterization Report, Excess Soil Destination Reports, Fill Management Plans, etc.
- Working knowledge of reviewing and filing Notices on the Excess Soil Registry;
- Strong knowledge of construction fill management and be able to review client provided information and provide practical, turn-key solution
- Prepare proposal, budget tracking and cost control;
- Report preparation;
- Provide senior review for environmental reports prepared by junior staff; and,
- Maintain excellent working relationships with clients.
What your experience looks like
- 7 to 10 years of experience in environmental consulting specialized in site remediation, environmental site assessment and excess soils related projects;
- P.Eng. or P.Geo. license in Ontario (or equivalent designation);
- University degree in a related field of study such as Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineer, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology or Geology;
- Extensive working knowledge with Ontario Regulation 153/04 and Record of Site Conditions;
- Extensive working knowledge with Ontario Regulation 406/16 and associated Soil Rules;
- Familiar with construction and earthworks in general from an environmental standpoint;
- Knowledge of remediation systems and techniques;
- Experience in geotechnical and hydrogeological engineering an asset;
- Excellent oral communication and presentation skills as well as ability to clearly convey project information to client or stakeholders;
- Possesses technical writing abilities;
- Expertise in budget management, report preparation and client relationship management; and,
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
