Reporting to the Director, Financial & Sustainability Reporting, the Senior Manager, Sustainability Reporting will play a key role in delivering and evolving OMERS sustainability disclosures, researching and recommending positions on developing technical sustainability reporting topics, and leading the adoption and enhancement of sustainability reporting processes and controls. This individual will build strong, collaborative relationships with sustainability-focused teams across our global enterprise, and will need to demonstrate expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, and reporting system literacy. You will bring a passion and dedication for sustainability reporting, exceptional analytical skills and the ability to learn in a face-paced environment. In this role, you will contribute reporting expertise, a desire to build a team community, and an eagerness to be a part of a winning culture.
The person who fills this role will be a key senior member of the OMERS Corporate Finance team and an influential people leader for the growing Sustainability Reporting team. Our ambitions are high: we aim to be the best corporate finance team in the Canadian pension industry.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Leading the consolidated carbon metric reporting included in the OMERS annual report, along with other sustainability reporting requirements
Leading, developing and coaching the Manager, Financial & Sustainability Reporting
Collaborating closely with the OMERS Sustainable Investing team and industry peers to ensure alignment with sustainability reporting standards and best practices
Being a subject matter expert in sustainability reporting and delivering education in this space across OMERS
Influence and engage with teams across OMERS to enhance sustainability reporting practices to meet growing disclosure requirements
Researching and analyzing evolving sustainability reporting standards and preparing briefings and recommendations for senior leaders
Evolving sustainability reporting processes and enhancing controls
Engaging with external and internal auditors on sustainability reporting engagements
Participating in technical training and development opportunities
Other contributions, as the team may need and as opportunities arise
To succeed in this role, you have/are:
A minimum 7+ years’ experience in corporate financial reporting roles with a strong understanding of financial reporting and corporate accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls
A minimum 3+ years in a leadership position coaching and developing staff
Experience in sustainability reporting and ESG subject matter expertise is an asset
A post-secondary degree in business, accounting, or finance
A CPA designation with an understanding of IFRS accounting standards - an understanding of IFRS Sustainability standards is an asset
Ability to conduct research, draw insights and convey ideas clearly and concisely
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at various levels
A self-starter who can work both independently and with a team, while fostering a collegial team culture
Comfortable with change and ambiguity and can problem solve on complex/evolving topics
High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; experience in Alteryx and Power BI is an asset
