The project\: The sustainability Manager for the Mace Responsible Business team is essentially leading the development of client climate change, sustainability, and/or social value strategies on individual projects, including agreeing project outcomes and ensuring their delivery by the project team. Expertise and promote innovation in a particular area of sustainability, such as waste, energy/carbon, water, responsible sourcing of materials, sustainable buildings, etc.

You’ll be responsible for:
- Excellent knowledge of sustainable building design, including embodied and operational carbon and energy reduction, in new build and refurbishment projects, including programme, cost, and operational impacts of NZC strategies.
- Proven track record of driving design teams to understand and respond to environmental constraints and opportunities to maximise positive environmental benefits.
- Expertise in one or more sustainability topics (waste, water, energy, carbon, responsible sourcing, building design, biodiversity, etc).
- Be able to translate technical topics into layperson language and articulate the value of sustainability.
- Be able to represent Mace at relevant forums and through presentations to clients and working groups.
- Champion sustainability and be a leader, encouraging behavioural change throughout the business.
- Developing innovation and best practice, including clearly communicating these to the wider business and our clients.
- As such, they must be able to translate best EMS practices from one area to another. This includes analysing reporting needs to simplify the process.
- Bid support support work winning/bidding with strong business acumen.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients and stakeholders including design team members, contractors, sub-contractors, and regulators.
- Any other ad hoc duties as required.
You’ll need to have:
- A degree in a relevant environmental or science subject.
- Experience in project, contractor, stakeholder engagement or delivering employment & skills requirements
- Experience in developing, and/or implementing environmental management systems on projects
- Practical experience in the following sectors would be beneficial\: Infrastructure (e.g., rail or highways).
- Experience in project, contractor, stakeholder engagement, or delivering employment & skills requirements.
- Experience in implementing environmental management systems on projects.
- Project Management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
