Head of Sustainability, Industry – APAC & China

Are you interested to join Grundfos team as the Head of Sustainability for Industry Division, APAC & China?
In this role, you will have overall responsibility for identifying and managing sustainability opportunities and risks in the APAC and China regions, with a focus on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments.
What is the Job all about?
This role is critical in building trust and advocacy among internal and external stakeholders through strategic communication and the development and implementation of comprehensive sustainability plans.
Being the Regional Driver of IND Global Sustainability Transformation, leader in this role also encompasses leading the business transformation and growth of i-Solution in APAC and China and curating the competencies of the sales functions to support sustainable business practices.
This role will be part of the Industry Sales APAC and China and will directly report to the Senior Sales Director for Industry – APAC & China. The role will be based in Grundfos Singapore Office.
Your main responsibilities:
- Sustainability Strategy and Management:
- Guide the identification and management of sustainability (ESG & SBTi) opportunities and risks across the IND APAC and China regions.
- Develop and implement regional sustainability strategies aligned with global objectives, ensuring the integration of ESG considerations into business operations and decision-making processes. Responsible for integrating sustainability initiatives into annual, mid-term and long-term business strategy making and business planning & deployment with high quality and good alignment across functions and with IND division.
- Work as the window person with global functions regarding Sustainability Initiatives, Responsible for connecting with global teams and actively share with and learn from other regional sales teams regarding best practice and experiences.
- Monitor and report on the progress of sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance with regional and global standards, regulations, and goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy:
- Build and maintain trust and advocacy among internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and engagement strategies.
- Serve as the regional sustainability contact, representing the company in dialogues with government agencies, industry events, and partnerships. Build networks with Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) and government bodies to advocate for supportive sustainability legislation. Lead engagement through thought leadership in forums, conferences, and seminars, both online and offline, including Dealer Conferences, Net Zero Journey Seminars, and i-Solution Lab initiatives. Target key stakeholders such as distributors, consultants, end-users, and OEMs for co-creating sustainable solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, legal and operations, to ensure consistent messaging and alignment on sustainability goals and business strategies such as enhancing Grundfos branding, SBTi strategy, i-Solution, utilize and maximize business opportunities based on local legislation and business environment and other related activities.
- Business Transformation and Growth (i-Solution):
- Drive the transformation and growth of i-Solution in IND APAC and China region by integrating sustainability principles into business models, products, and services.
- Identify new business opportunities and partnerships that align with sustainability goals and contribute to the long-term growth and competitiveness of the companies in APAC and China, positioning Grundfos strategically within the sustainability ecosystem.
- Support the development of innovative offerings and solutions that address sustainability challenges and meet the evolving needs of customers in the region
- Act as the window person to lead regional strategies, working closely with Group and division functions responsible for SBTi and i-Solution. Ensure to provide regional business needs, market insights, and feedback on global initiatives to and from the region.
- Establish yourself as a regional level Centre of Expertise (business sustainability) and a key driver of:
- -i-Solution business development
- -High-efficiency product development and launches in collaboration with global/regional BD, Product& managers and Marketing team. Including but not limited to business planning according to competitiveness and local market, core business model design, go to market plan making and continuous improvement based on performance tracking.
- -Knowledge management, training design and implementation, follow-up
- -Working with Channel Management team and Area Sales team, building competency and awareness among external business partners and customers.
- Human Capital Development:
- Work with Global BD, Sales & Aftermarket Transformation and Sustainability Community, (co-)design and implement training and development programs that equip the sales team with the necessary skills and knowledge to advocate for and implement sustainable business practices.
- Work with marketing, CSSC, Service Solution and other function team to develop Sustainability initiatives related selling tools and communication for internal or external use.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement not only within the regional sales team, but also the reginal E2E team, ensuring alignment with regional and global sustainability goals.
Your background:
- Bachelor or above in mechanic, electronic or related area
- Experience leading sustainability strategy development and deployment within a large business environment; experience in a large manufacturing environment is highly desirable
- Above 5~10 years of working experience in the subject domain
- Relevant experience working with APAC countries and exposure to China business and cultural environment will be preferred
- Besides English as working language, candidates fluent in Chinese language (listening, speaking, reading and writing) will be prioritized
- Prefer to be experienced of leading and working with international/cross-cultural team
- Possess significant knowledge of best practices in relevant systems, local laws and regulations where applicable, in a specific market segment
- Familiar with industry business environment and business model in APAC and China
- Regional or global exposure is desired
- Experience as or work closely to support P&L owner is preferred.
