Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Safety Analyst to join our team. The Safety Analyst will be responsible for examining safety-related data, identifying trends, and preparing comprehensive reports. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively.

Responsibilities

Primary
- Collect and analyze safety data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and potential risks
- Develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets to organize and manage safety data effectively
- Prepare detailed reports based on data analysis, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations for improvement
- Stay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and advancements in safety technology
- Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
Training and Awareness
- Delivering safety awareness training programs for employees
- Provide guidance and support to staff on safety best practices and procedures
- Conduct periodic drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of safety protocols
Incident Response and Investigation
- Respond promptly to safety incidents, emergencies, and breaches
- Conduct thorough investigations into safety violations, injuries, and other incidents, documenting findings and recommending preventative measures
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Port Ops, Legal, HR departments, to address safety-related issues
Risk Assessments
- Identify potential safety risks and threats to the organization and develop mitigation strategies
- Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in corporate safety

Compensation

$52,000 - $56,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proficient knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Detail oriented with ability to work in deadline-driven environment
Interpersonal skills required in order to work with multiple departments
Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication is essential in conveying information, instructions, and updates to various team members
Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain order
Multitasking: Safety personnel often have to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, being able to switch between tasks efficiently is important
Adaptability: Organizations and tasks can change quickly. Being adaptable allows safety staff to handle unexpected situations and changes effectively

Education & Experience

HS Diploma/GED Minimum Required
- Associates Degree or Higher Preferred
1 - 2 Years of Direct Experience with EHS Exposure or Background Required
- 2 - 5 Years of Direct Experience Preferred
ISO 45001 or ISO Program Awareness Preferred

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
Lift up to 20lbs
Carry up to 20lbs
Stand/walk
