Summary
The Environmental Manager is responsible for all environmental compliance for our Bennettsville, South Carolina facilities. Submit all regulatory reports in timely manner, conduct all stack testing and water testing per permitted requirements, and ensure day-to-day compliance of site. The day-to-day of this role involves managing water + air permits, correcting environmental deficiencies found in inspections, and providing guidance for environmental issues of production management team.
Essential functions and basic duties include:
- Managing Title V Air Permit subject to Plywood and Composite Wood Products MACT.
- Managing new air permit modifications and updating site air permit as well as monitor air permit inspections
- Maintaining excellent relationship with State regulators.
- Managing stormwater permits and site BMPs.
- Manage environmental records including preparation and submission of all regulatory reports.
- Stay up to date with changes in State and Federal Air and Water regulations.
- Manage site solid waste, hazwaste, and radiation storage locations.
- Ensure appropriate radiation/X-ray protocols maintained on site.
- Conduct stack testing as required by air permit.
Required qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in ESH, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, strongly preferred
- Minimum of 5 year's industrial experience in an environmental leadership role
- Strong background in Title V air permit management
- Familiarity with wastewater and stormwater SC State regulations is beneficial
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office suite of products
