Job Summary
Manages environmental compliance team that provides in-depth support to several major customers. Must have prior supervisory experience and extensive knowledge of global environmental compliance regulations such as EU RoHS, REACH, California Prop 65, TSCA, Conflict Minerals, etc. Will be the main compliance contact for key customers, so candidates must have exceptional communication skills and the ability to succinctly understand and deliver to customer requirements.
Principal Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)
- Responsible for management and resource allocation of the team to ensure customer environmental compliance requirements are met with consistent high quality and within business Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Oversee the collection of environmental compliance data such as EU RoHS, REACH, California Prop 65, TSCA, Conflict Minerals, etc. from suppliers
- Interface directly with customers to obtain and document their environmental compliance requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and Avnet customer account managers
- Continuously address customer questions, suggestions, and changing requirements
- Lead project reviews with customers and internal stakeholders providing status updates, highlights, challenges, and solutions to issues
- Participate as a subject matter expert in key customer projects involving product environmental compliance data
- Prepare compliance certificates and deliver them to customers or load into third party portals such as BOMcheck
- Escalate data issues both internally and externally with suppliers and customers
- Research and fully understand new and changing environmental compliance regulations
- Manages and oversees the team's maintenance of product data owned by business to ensure accuracy and freshness of content
- Interprets and administers policies, processes and procedures that affect direct reports and the workflow of the team/department. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Contributes to performance standards of department and direct reports.

- Thorough knowledge of principles, theories and concepts in area of discipline. Competent in all job functions and has thorough understanding of the industry practices, techniques and standards.
- May refer to policies, practices and precedents for guidance; determines best course of action to achieve results
- Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. May receive some limited guidance for new assignments. Work may be reviewed for overall adequacy.
- Collaborates with management and team members within the department/function and other areas of the organization. May represent department internally or externally.
- Actions may impact the success of the overall department and/or the organization. Failure to accomplish work or erroneous decisions may result in delays to projects, loss of revenue or allocation of additional resources to remedy.
Work Experience:
6+ years including 2+ years of supervisory experience
Education and Certification(s):
Bachelor degree or Master degree in electrical engineering, chemistry, environmental science, or similar area of study
