Position Title: Facilities Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
The facilities manager is expected to lead and direct all aspects of the housekeeping team, landscape contractor, pool cleaning services, pest management vendor oversight, and outsourced janitorial services at OdySea Aquarium and Arizona Boardwalk. The facilities manager will support and fill in for the maintenance manager when required. This position sets priorities to ensure efficient utilization of labor, supplies, and budget; and ensures proper allocation of resources. The Facilities Manager understands the importance of providing quality service to internal and external guests and all team members. A Strong understanding of inventory management, cleaning standards, scheduling, and organization with attention to detail is required. As part of the OdySea Aquarium team, the facilities manager must lead by example, commit to a strong work ethic, and be patient, kind, respectful, forgiving, and honest. Positive communication is always expected, always maintaining excellent guest service focus. Working cooperatively with all other departments, and team members. Providing a service to the team members and our guests. Emulate the mission and vision of the organization, emphasizing education and conservation while delivering excellence in the guest experience.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coach, guide, and mentor team members to impress the importance of their role and the impact they have on the guest experience.
- Oversee all aspects of housekeeping staff and vendor relations including leading and motivating team members/vendors to ensure productive interdepartmental relationships.
- Develop, and submit for approval, an annual janitorial supplies budget.
- Actively monitor and control the janitorial supplies inventory and usage.
- Support and implement maintenance programs required to keep the facility safe and fully operational 24/7/365.
- Establish and implement janitorial/housekeeping procedures required to maintain building cleanliness at the highest possible standard 24/7/365.
- Evaluate the operation of the department. Take appropriate action for improvement when and where necessary.
- Respond to requests for maintenance repairs. Determine priorities and advise the requesting department of anticipated completion.
- Maintain all related records and reports.
- May be assigned additional duties as required by business needs.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years field experience
- Proven leadership skills and management capabilities are required.
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
- Proficient in Microsoft systems, Word, Excel, and Outlook
PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug testing and background investigation.

- Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Must be able to take directional cues directly or indirectly. Ability to work in an environment that may be loud at times.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, including occasional extreme hot or cold, and wet and/or humid conditions.
- Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
