POSITION SUMMARY:
Aquarium’s Human Resources Internship program, the HR intern will learn how to engage with and support our internal customers and gain experience in multiple HR avenues. Some of the aspects of this field that the intern may encounter onboarding, training, recruiting, development, various administrative duties and HR compliance, and they will assist in making in the Desert a great place to work. The HR intern will work with the HR Coordinator to develop a long-term project that will benefit the company and be presented at the conclusion of the internship. The HR intern will learn how to assist the HR coordinator in day to day HR duties, as well as complete benchmark goals throughout the semester. This internship is flexible but requires a minimum of 12 hours per week (Tuesday-Friday).
We are looking for an individual who is comfortable being a member of a high performing team and maintains a professional appearance and demeanor. The ability to multi-task, communicate effectively, pay attention to detail and remain efficient is essential in this position. The ideal candidate for this internship is resourceful, a good problem solver, a proactive thinker and very organized.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in generating memos, emails and reports when appropriate.
- Learn how to prepare paperwork for HR policies and procedures.
- Experience assisting with Employee File Management.
- Assist in maintenance of employee records and uploading to Payroll System.
- Complete Onboarding/Offboarding employee checklist with guidance.
- Assist in maintaining office and uniform supplies by checking inventory and ordering items as needed.
- Supporting the Human Resources Director in coordinating trainings, events, and meetings with Team Members.
- Learn how to run audits on HR files.
- Assist in creating team member communication such as email announcements, monthly calendars and daily events.
- Assist HR coordinator in recruiting processes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
