Summary: Under the direction of the IT Director, the Assistant Director of IT will participate in the installation, maintenance, monitoring, and administration of the hardware and software components of systems including workstations, printers, and networking equipment. Works closely with all appropriate departments and personnel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned:Performs Help Desk duties with limited supervision, responds to user reports of hardware and software difficulty or malfunctions remotely or in person as needed by identifying, diagnosing, and correcting the cause of the problem personally or through contact with vendors or other personnel. Advises users and operators in using applications and operating system resources optimally and provides on-going support. Documents service calls, maintenance activities, equipment inventory, and trouble reports. Monitors schedules and reports of technical support activities (backups, updates, virus scans, etc.). Receives on-the-job training on basic structure of organization and the role of system software/hardware, database software, specialty applications, and/or network software/hardware. Transports systems, performs physical installation, installs applications, customizes user settings, migrates data from existing to new systems. Duties require lifting or carrying computer equipment or tools up to 35 pounds. Assists in installation, setup, and design of displays, presentations, attractions, and websites. Assists in the creation and maintenance of email accounts, new employee orientation and other onboarding tasks. Covers the department’s needs when the director is absent.
Qualifications and Education Requirements: - Minimum entry-level certification such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+
- Five years of experience as a helpdesk technician and in the field.
- Security+, Cybersecurity certifications would be preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills
Software and Hardware used: OS: Microsoft Windows 10, Windows 11, Server 2019, Productivity: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, OneNote, Project, Desktop apps and web apps. etc.) Other: Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, Caterease, Sage Pro Dell PCs and Servers Network: Ubiquity, Cisco, Adtran PowerShell and basic command line for network troubleshooting. The physical demands will require the employee to occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
