POSITION SUMMARY:
The Oregon Install Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing the people and processes for our installation teams. They oversee the development and performance of each installer to form a safe, quality driven, & efficient team. They work cross functionally between installation teams and other depts, generating good morale and highly effective working relationships. The Install Supervisor proactively communicates to ensure feedback is delivered to and from the installation team to promote positive improvement & best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Management
- Lead weekly installation team meeting for updates, best practices and promote open communication and continuous learning.
- Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings and semi-annual assessments to review each installer's performance and provide feedback.
- Lead and take action on quarterly SWOT analysis meetings with Installers.
- Track employee records and coordinate compensation changes.
- Manage PTO requests, crew makeups, and capacity planning in collaboration with the PM team.
- Lead recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new installers to support installation capacity planning.
- Ensure adherence to company policies within the install team.
Installation Performance and Process
- Conduct weekly site visits for feedback and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with crews to optimize performance for cost-savings while maintaining quality.
- Standardize and maintain documented installation methods.
- Coordinate with other departments to improve efficiency.
- Partner with PM to complete Site Surveys, Precons, Project closeout tasks and owner trainings
- Complete monthly As-Built reviews, scoring, and feedback to Installers.
- Participate in commercial bid reviews and bid walks as needed with the estimating team.
- Support service calls by coordinating crew allocation with PM and Service teams
Safety
- Conduct weekly site visits for safety support and assurance.
- Promote a strong culture of safety awareness and accountability on the team.
- Work with PMs and Install Crews to implement and devise solutions to safety issues on projects.
- Train Install Team on safe work practices and emergency procedures.
- Ensure all installers have proper PPE and safety equipment to perform their work.
- Create and present weekly job related safety hazard topics during Install meetings.
- Conduct incident site investigations, manage paperwork, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor, report, & coach team on safe driving via vehicle telematics.
Fleet & Tools Management
- Manage assignment, replacement of tools/equipment and maintenance of vehicles.
- Ensure crews keep vehicles clean, organized, and well maintained.
Training, Certifications, & Licensing
- Develop and implement trainings for new products, installation methods, and safety
- Monitor and ensure all Licenses and Certifications remain current and active
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in solar panel installation techniques.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to installation technicians.
Team Building & Culture
- Promote and practice company values & guiding principles.
- Promote leadership and team building throughout the install team.
- Collaborate with and support WA Install Supervisors on training, safety, and install process.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Residential and Commercial roof side solar installation experience.
- 3+ years of Field personnel management experience.
- Willingness to travel to job sites weekly, including overnight stays as needed.
- Maintains a clean driving record.
