Job Summary
The Director, Marketing & Communications will lead our marketing and communications efforts. This role is pivotal in driving our brand’s narrative, expanding our market presence, and enhancing our stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience writing business communications and a proven track record of developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that align with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Execute Marketing and Communications Strategies: Build and manage a cohesive marketing and communication strategy across all platforms, ensuring consistency in messaging and alignment with company goals.
- Marketing Leadership: Oversee Corporate Marketing development and execution of marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, content marketing, social media, events and partnerships to manage brand awareness as needed.
- Team Leadership: Comfortable working with senior executives to align departmental level communications with broader corporate initiatives and strategies.
- Crisis Communications: Develop and maintain communication strategy for crisis response and act as the company’s spokesperson in emergency situations.
- Brand Representation: Serve as the company’s brand representative and help establish internal brand ambassadors across the organization to support marketing, project and business development efforts.
- Internal Communications: Ensure effective communication within the organization, fostering alignment and engagement with company objectives.
- External Communications: Manage public relations efforts, including press releases, media inquires, conferences, and industry presentations to elevate company’s profile in the renewable energy space.
- Content Oversight: Oversee the creation and management of marketing content, such as website updates, newsletters, social media content, email campaigns, and other promotional materials.
- Brand Management: Ensure consistency in brand messaging and representation across all marketing channels, supporting the company’s long-term strategic vision.
- Event Planning and Event Sponsorship: Lead the company’s participation in industry events, trade shows, conferences, internal events/summits and project specific events, including developing event strategy, managing logistics, and optimizing marketing impact.
- Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and establish strategic marketing partnerships and collaborations with industry stakeholders to enhance the company’s profile, visibility and reach.
- Board Communications: Provide oversight for materials presented to the board, ensuring they are clear, consistent, aligned with the company’s strategic messaging and on time.
Location: Houston Office Hybrid/Remote working may be acceptable for this role. Position may require periodic travel for team meetings, events or determined on an as needed basis.
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in marketing and communications, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive and impactful messages.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and communications strategies.
- Experience managing marketing and communications budgets and tracking performance metrics.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing, tools and techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
- Excellent analytical and reasoning abilities combined with sound business acumen.
- Energy industry experience preferred.
