The Value Engineer champions standardization and margin improvement initiatives supporting our Battery Solutions Team. This is accomplished by driving cost and standardization ideas with our technical team and working with procurement and the business unit to implement. Communication of partners and holding the team accountable for work is critical.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will:
- Close collaboration with Systems Engineering team for idea generation and standardization that provide solutions serving the broad market (80%)
- Hold Value Engineering workshops with team that examine all aspects of test solutions for cost optimization and standardization
- Establish a prioritized opportunity list with clear ownership and due dates
- Prepare regular reporting to leadership on progress of initiatives
- Regular support of Procurement team in supply base framework agreements, which benefit from standardization efforts
- Regular working meetings among Procurement, Systems Engineering and Offering Management to drive open actions in support of initiatives
- Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to conduct detailed cost analysis for battery solution projects, including materials, labor, equipment and overhead costs
- Identity opportunities for cost optimization in battery solution projects and implement strategies to achieve these
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance efficiency in battery solution development. Actively seek feedback from collaborators to identify areas for improvement
- Achievement of overall roadmap improvement targets for the aggregate of the Battery Solutions Business
- Value stream mapping and analysis

For This Role, You Will Need:
Skills/Abilities:
- Leading project and program-level workloads/coordinating the work of a team of developers (DevOps)
- Designing and architecting solutions and components in the development tools being used, proficiency with system design tools (e.g. UML/SysML)
- Encourage information exchange and promote connectivity across teams
- Customer and partner competence and adaptability to battery test technology changes
Knowledge:
- Technical knowledge on battery validation systems
- Ability to quickly understand software interaction with test system design
- Experience in testing automotive components for hybrid systems (batteries, inverters, E-motors, OBC, transmissions)
Education:
- Bachelor’s level related engineering degree required, MBA is a positive
