About the role:
UpEnergy is at a time of exciting growth, expanding both in terms of product and geographic portfolio. We seek a Carbon Project officer to manage technical work associated with our existing and new carbon offset projects (GS/VERRA/Article 6 etc..). The Project Officer will be responsible for creating documentation for the approval process of new carbon emissions reduction projects focused on household/institutional products such as efficient cookstoves, water treatment devices and any other distributed technology devices.

What will be some of your responsibilities?
- Managing overall project cycle in collaboration with Operation and Data team;
- Liaise with VVB and CB for the timely closure of the projects;
- Provide technical guidance and develop process manuals, SOPs, guidance documents and standard templates;
- Lead monitoring, reporting & verification of UpEnergy’s carbon projects;
- Responsible for the capacity building of the team;
- Manage preparation of project documents and emission reduction calculation sheets for registration/issuance of carbon credits under various market mechanisms such as Gold Standard (GS4GG), VERRA and any other carbon mechanism;
- Assist in data analysis for carbon monetization;
- Maintain the work log and calendar of Technical Team;
- Other activities as determined by the Head – Technical Carbon / VP of Carbon.
What you should have to succeed at this role?
- Master’s degree in a related field or appropriate work exposure with advanced MS Excel skills;
- Minimum of 4 years global experience in project management within the climate tech industry
- Ability to work in a decentralized, global team;
- Demonstrated expertise in distributed technologies like clean cooking solutions, Safe water programs, etc.;
- Willingness to travel to a country UpEnergy operates.
- Knowledge on Kitchen Performance tests (KPTs) and Water boiling tests (WBTs) will be an asset.
- High attention to detail;
- Excellent written & verbal communicator, with the ability to translate complex carbon sector concepts into everyday language across languages and cultures;
- A team player, and a self-starter.
