Major Duties
Under general supervision of the Associate Vice President of Undergraduate Studies, the SOLAR Catalog/Road Map Specialist is responsible for maintaining undergraduate course records and all course requisites in the SOLAR Catalog, developing and publishing degree road maps and planners, and facilitating the annual CSUN Program Finder review process.
- Maintains all undergraduate courses in the university's SOLAR Catalog, ensuring that the records are accurate and up-to-date. Catalog records are added and modified on a regular basis, in keeping with decisions made by relevant Faculty Senate committees. The incumbent is responsible for technical updates and all course requisite coding in the SOLAR Catalog. Reviews and provides feedback on proposed curriculum in the context of the SOLAR Catalog/requisite coding.
- Constructs and maintains all degree road maps and planners for undergraduate degree programs (e.g., 4 Year, 2 Year, ADT, etc.) published in the CSUN Catalog, as well as mapper/planner/pathway data housed in other information systems (e.g., CO Mapper Project, Transfer Success Planner, Astra Pathways, etc.)
- Consults with academic departments and UGS staff to ensure that the road maps and planners accurately reflect the optimum pathway to degrees, coordinates publishing deadlines, and serves as the primary campus resource for degree road maps and planners.
- Attends Educational Policies Committee meetings as the SOLAR Catalog, requisite and road map expert.
- Participates in the annual CSUN Program Finder review process in collaboration with academic departments and cross-divisional campus partners.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field.
- Equivalent to three (3) years of full-time, progressively responsible technical, analytical, or administrative experience.
- Additional experience in job-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required education, on a year for year basis.
- SOLAR Catalog/SOC experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Working knowledge of general practices, program, and/or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational analysis and techniques. Thorough knowledge of {budget, policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program and/or administrative specialty}.
- Ability and specialized skills to expertly investigate and analyze problems with a broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to: oversee and/or train others and provide lead work direction; interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures to develop conclusions and make recommendations; compile, write and present reports related to program or administrative specialty; and communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

- Classification: Admin Analyst/Specialist / 1038 / grade 2
- The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $4725 - $5483 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $4598 - $8313 per month.
- HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
- This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
- The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
