To provide a standardized approach and duties for the installation of Industrial grade Solar Farms and Electrical components. Install and test Electrical Equipment and circuity. The intent characterizes and apply to installations irrespective of vendors and suppliers.
Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. The following duties are listed both as trade specific and shared responsibilities.
1. Read and understand Mechanical and Electrical assembly drawings and specifications.
2. Identify components of a Solar tracker system.
3. Identify orientation and elevation of components.
4. Describe the function of Solar components.
5. Installation of Solar PV Systems and mounting equipment including (not inclusive):
a. Installing Underground raceway, Above ground raceway and cable hangers.
b. Installing Direct burial cables.
c. Installing Transformers, Inverters, Batteries, Poles, Switch-racks, Combiners, Controllers, Data boxes, weather stations, GPS, and Sun Trackers.
6. Pull Terminate and test medium voltage A/C cables.
7. Pull Terminate and test D/C cables.
8. Identify and maintain D/C polarity.
9. Have knowledge of the sequence of erection of a Solar Tracker system.
10. Have knowledge of the sequence of connecting module strings.
11. Have knowledge of working on and around energized circuits and use of test equipment.
12. Test Solar PV, String circuits and Combiner Box circuits.
13. Understand and install grounding systems and proper attachment methods.
14. Load transport, unload material, tools, equipment, and supplies, restock as necessary.
15. May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
16. Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
17. Must be able to safely traverse uneven terrain with tools and building materials.
18. Must be able to climb ladders and work above ground as necessary.
19. Perform a variety of tasks involving safe dexterous use of hand tools.
20. Safely operate hand tools, power tools and equipment.
