POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
Moss' Solar Early-Stage Project Managers will be supporting the Preconstruction team delivering a fully contracted project, including LNTPs and EPC Agreement, to Operations, including review and incorporation of Owner-provided Scope of Work.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review project estimate and Proposal to Owner to understand EPC scope and design assumptions and apply contents to Final Contract / Contract Value negotiations
Lead, with assistance from Operations, Risk, Contract Management and Legal teams, in Owner contract review and negotiations
Procure, through Owner, all remaining Owner Provided Information (including surveys, geotechnical data, design criteria, etc.) to support the project-specific design
Work with Scheduling and Operations to create baseline, and target schedules timely
Perform cash flow analysis while taking into account construction schedule, material deposits, early works, GCs, etc. and ensuring that the project will be cash positive at all times
Maintain filing system for Project Documents while ensuring folder structure consistency
Inform Owner of cost and schedule as it relates to Due Diligence, Design and material deposits to develop a Limited Notice to Proceed allowing for initiation of Early Works
Develop and process for execution the Early Works Agreements, including terms and conditions, scopes of work, schedules, insurance requirements and costs, with engineering and racking vendors timely
Manage Due Diligence and Design process and engage with engineers for geotechnical testing and design scopes of work while coordinating safety, utility locates, schedule, costs, and commercial issues with Safety & Operations
Coordinate with Engineering on deliverables, document review, Drawing Log, geotechnical / testing requirements for Due Diligence, Owner coordination meetings, etc. to ensure schedule, budget and contract requirements are met
Manage, while coordinating with all Functions, the review and finalization of respective sections/exhibits of Owner contracts (i.e., Scheduling, Warranty, Commissioning, Safety, Quality, Engineering, etc.)
Lead permitting process during preconstruction while coordinating with Engineering and Operations; hand off permitting to Project Management once project team is assigned
Conduct regular occurring Owner meetings during preconstruction with all relevant stakeholders (i.e., Project Updates, Engineering, Critical Impacts, etc)
Provide weekly reports, both internal and external, to include schedule, key open items
Manage Preconstruction Budget Tracking Logs, Exhibit Tracking Logs and RFI Logs until Owner EPC Agreement is finalized; hand off documentation to Project Management once preconstruction is complete
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline
Minimum 4+ years of experience as an Early-Stage Project Manager within the Solar/EPC construction industry
Strong computer skills are a necessity, including familiarity with construction project management applications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and are required to interface directly with owners' representatives, the A/E team, building departments and other team members
Strong leadership and cultural development skills are required including, but not limited to coaching, mentoring and the ability to build and maintain motivated teams
Highly developed project management finance skills are required
