Job Description


 

 Job Title: Roofing Project Assistant                                                       Department: Installation/Operations

Reports to: Sales Manager Sales                                                    Effective Date: 6/6/2023

        FLSA: Exempt Salary                                                                  



Summary:


This position is primarily responsible for ensuring Commercial and Residential Roofing Projects are properly assessed, scoped, ordered, and built to local codes and warranty standards.

The Roofing Project Assistant will work under the Roofing Project Manager ensuring that jobs run efficiently and smoothly monitoring the installation, and dealing with the crews as well as homeowners.

Essential Duties, Functions, and Core Accountabilities:

  • Assist with Site Survey and Take off on roofing projects

  • Assist in coordinating  with permit package preparer 

  • Provide support to Sales Manager (Jorge Ramos) as required for materials, schedule, and cost information.

  • Request Material bids and prepare purchase orders P.O.s

  • Monitor job progress and record all events and communications in ZOHO

  • Maintain a change order status log. 

  • Keep Accounts Receivables informed of all pending and approved change orders 

  • Provide support to Jorge Ramos as required for materials, schedule, and cost information.

  • Maintain communication with the client to keep them informed and engaged

  • Maintain communication with Solar Operations to keep them informed

  • Attend Daily Department Team meetings and Weekly Scheduling meetings

  • Schedule Reroofs once the permit is issued

  • Schedule and Attend Final Inspections

  • Notify Solar Operations of completion in order to schedule Solar installation

  • Ability to work in all weather and climates


Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Essential physical requirements, included climbing, standing, stooping, bend, squat, stretch.

  • Physical effort/lifting up to 10 pounds; light - up to 20 pounds; medium - up to 50 pounds; heavy - over 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in all weather and climates

  • Ability to work in confined spaces, such as attics

  • Must be able to work with heights; ascends/descends a ladder to rooftops.

  • While working conditions can vary depending on the specific position, this job will require you to be outdoors for extended periods of time. 

  • Keep in mind that you may be required to work at heights necessary to get the work done, and that you can meet the physical demand of working on a rooftop. Additionally, will sometimes need to work in attics or crawl into tight spaces as they will need to hook up the solar panels to the electric grid.

  • Weekends and OT may be required

  • Workdays and start times are subject to change dependent on weather & additional requirements


Compensation

Compensation may vary based on role, level, experience, length of time in a position, and location. Candidates are not guaranteed to be at the high or low end of the compensation ranges presented. The Company complies with applicable federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements.



Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities: 

● Bilingual (Spanish) preferred 

● Excellent customer service skills 

● Availability of six days a week, including nights and weekends 

Education and Experience: 

● High school diploma or equivalent 

● At least 2 years of related experience 

● Valid driver's license 

● Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
