The Environmental Academic Area of IE University, Spain, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Renewable and Circular Economy Energy to start in September 2025. This position aims to advance our understanding and application of renewable energy technologies and their integration with circular economy principles, including geoenergy and negative emission technologies.
We seek candidates with expertise in areas such as solar energy, wind energy, biomass energy, geothermal energy, energy from waste, and other renewable energy sources. The ideal candidate will have a strong research background in these fields and the potential to develop a robust research program that addresses the challenges and opportunities of sustainable energy integration within a circular economy framework.
The candidate is expected to teach courses such as:
- Physics
- Energy: Generation and Storage Sources and Technologies
- Solid Waste and Contaminated Soil Treatment Technologies
The successful candidate will primarily be part of the IE School of Science and Technologyand the Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences for Sustainability.

- A Ph.D. in Renewable Energy, Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Expertise in renewable energy technologies and their integration with circular economy principles, including geoenergy and negative emission technologies.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
