Position Summary
The Project Manager, Project Delivery is responsible for facilitating Plug Power’s Electrolyzer offering to customers developing large scale green hydrogen plants. As a Project Manager, you’ll join our collaborative team providing our clients with planning, engineering, manufacturing management. The Project Manager develops and maintains projects schedules to ensure activities are carried out in accordance with established specifications, schedules, and budgets. This position plays a key role in managing expectations and priorities to both internal and external customers The successful candidate will coordinate with multiple cross-functional departments to efficiently allocate resources, manage risks, develop attainable schedules, and clarify requirements as needed.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the efforts of the Engineering, Procurement, Services and manufacturing departments to ensure project execution conducted in accordance with the requirements of sales orders and budgets.
- Support and advises sales teams on project execution plan and approach for ongoing bids.
- Translate customer needs into engineering requirements as appropriate with the engineering, manufacturing, services, and procurement teams.
- Communicate regularly with internal project team members and end-customers to clarify project expectations and meet commitments.
- Create and maintain complex schedules for multiple project activities. Identify critical path activities, key deliverables, key risks and mitigations, relationships, and constraints for projects to allow schedule and resource predictability.
- Co-ordinate procurement activities to support project needs. Process purchase requests, purchase order management incl. cost tracking.
- Independently anticipates potential schedule delays and initiate plans for alternative actions as needed; able to rearrange competing priorities to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Provide ongoing training and guidance to a direct team, acting as a resource and mentor for technical guidance.
- Update senior management on project status and opportunities on a regular basis.
- Ability to travel as needed to carry out duties of the position – up to 20 %.
Education and Experience
- BS or MS degree in engineering: mechanical, electrical or other applicable field of study.
- A minimum of Seven (7) years working experience in large scale industrial project-based functions.
- The ideal candidate possesses a background in project management in the hydrogen, chemical industry, or oil & gas sector with full exposure to basic engineering/FEED, engineering, procurement, production, construction, installation, and commissioning.
- Strong working knowledge and experience interfacing with procurement, fabricators and construction personnel, and EPC managers.
- Proven track record in developing project budget, schedule, and risk matrix.
- Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.
- Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Must be driven and self-motivated with excellent follow-through.
- Computer and software skills: MS Office, MS Project, Primavera and other project control tools.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred but not required.
