The Digital Fundraising Manager reports to the Director of Annual Giving and is responsible for managing and facilitating the League’s digital fundraising channels to identify, engage, cultivate and solicit donors. The Digital Fundraising Manager collaborates with Marketing & Communications, Program, and Development staff, as well as external vendors, to enhance and implement strategies to engage donors in digital platforms towards our goals to renew and increase online donations. The Digital Fundraising Manager helps shape digital creative content, produce fundraising strategies with our digital fundraising consultants, and support the development team in digital communications for donors at all levels. This position executes, monitors and optimizes digital fundraising campaigns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute a multi-channel strategy to drive donations and awareness growth through digital channels including paid social (Meta/Instagram/TikTok/YouTube focus) paid search (experience with Google Ad Grants a plus), display mediums, online video, streaming channels, CTV, retargeting, SMS and third-party affiliates.
- In strategic and close collaboration with the Director of Annual Giving, this position executes holistic digital fundraising strategies and tactics, aligning goals and priorities with the League’s overall funding needs.
- Provides support to the full Development team in implementing or enhancing digital strategies for major donors, legacy donors, and events as needed
- Oversee digital fundraising email planning calendar, including designing emails and executing eblasts in Everyaction database.
- In collaboration with Marketing & Communications Department, manage day-to-day ads in Meta Ads Manager, Google ads, paid search, Google Grants and more.
- Develop robust test-and-learn strategies to guide optimizations of digital campaign components (QA, landing pages, forms, segmentation, dynamic and personalized content, A/B testing) via data analysis and adjust to meet changes in market dynamics and competitive landscapes.
- Work with outside digital fundraising consultants to develop and support creative digital fundraising and stewardship campaigns through email, text, and other emerging communications platforms – including tactics such as landing pages, creative copy, videos, ads, etc.
- Develop monthly and annual donor giving strategies for our Evergreen membership program. Grow the organization's pool of donors, incorporate stewardship opportunities for this cohort of people.
- Ensure quality control and user experience: Proof reading emails, copy, ensuring mobile readiness, checking logo/brand/image consistency, language, layouts, backend coding, etc.
- Partner with Mar Comm and Development colleagues to coordinate and manage ad spend, paid media, list buys and earned marketing opportunities to grow the League's database of prospects and enhance the League’s online presence. Assist in developing and monitoring the digital fundraising budget.
- Support the Marketing & Communications team efforts to update and enhance giving opportunities and user experience on the League's website and digital channels.
- In collaboration with Director of Annual Giving, produce dashboards and reports for Development and leadership sharing digital philanthropy results, opportunities, trends and successes to inform donor, marketing and communication strategies
- Work with Data Solutions Manager to maximize use of donor database for digital fundraising including audience targeting, drip marketing campaigns, online subscriptions design, etc.
- Actively follow industry trends, assess opportunities, and collaborate with co-workers to share and brainstorm creative ideas.
- Complete administrative tasks as needed (contract approval routing, invoice management, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of Digital Fundraising or Digital Sales experience with a demonstrated track record of driving results and delivering against agreed upon goals.
- Experience with nonprofit organizations and an understanding of the nonprofit fundraising landscape are helpful
- Full cycle digital marketing project management experience.
- Working knowledge and experience working in a variety of digital platforms. Ability to quickly learn and become fluent in new technologies.
- Strong analytic skills and ability to be both strategic and tactical to prioritize opportunities, test and implement successful campaigns. Includes experience with A/B testing, analytics and other data driven digital marketing strategies and tactics.
- Search engine optimization experience with a background knowledge of content creation and traffic generation
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and creative skills. Ability to clearly and effectively articulate thoughts and strong presentation skills in group settings and with senior management
- Experience in managing outside contractors
- Passion for innovation and creative problem-solving that drives results.

- Experience working with Google AdWords and other major digital advertising channels
- Knowledge of UI/UX design and web optimization helpful
- Experience with project management systems (Asana, Trello, etc.) helpful.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Some travel predominantly within California
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Regularly sits at a desk or computer
- Actively utilizes computers, telephones and other office equipment
- Frequently moves about the office to collaborate with colleagues
- Periodically required to hike through forest land while working off-site, including walking on uneven ground, climbing over obstacles, and accessing remote locations.
- Occasionally lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 30 pounds
Work Schedule:
This role is hybrid with a minimum of 1-2 days onsite in our San Francisco headquarters per week. Our weekly in office day is Tuesday (when everyone living in the SF Bay Area is required to come in). Additional days are based on business needs.
Compensation & Benefits:
As a full-time salaried employee, you will be eligible for full benefits, which include medical, dental, and vision insurance, three weeks of vacation annually plus holidays, and a 401k retirement plan, currently with an up to 8% company match. We offer competitive salaries commensurate with experience and internal/external equity considerations; the hiring range for this position is $ 91,000 -101,000 per year.
