Job Description and Duties
Position exists in Contra Costa County. Under the general supervision of the Region Manager II, the Caltrans Maintenance Manager I is responsible for the supervision of Superintendents and Supervisors who oversee Landscape, Maintenance, Bridge and Ferry crews. The incumbent shall provide staffing input, training resources and establishes uniform practice and levels of services. Coordinates with other divisions, departments and local agencies. Provides monthly report utilizing information such as the Integrated Maintenance Management System (IMMS), Contracts, Equipment Material, and LEMO database for the monitoring of Permanent Intermittent employee hours, expended overtime and redirection of resources. Ensures that budgetary and procurement needs are provided is involved in the oversight of all region efforts. Reviews minor construction operation problems; performs field review of state highways for deficiencies that may require rehabilitation, advises Region Manager II, regarding budget management for consistency with district priorities and needs; and other Caltrans entities. Performs periodic safety reviews on maintenance operations; facilities and equipment.
To be considered for this vacancy you must have transfer eligibility based on present or past state civil service eligibility or passed an exam for this classification.
