We are seeking an experienced Solar Surveyor proficient in the use of Topcon and Trimble surveying equipment to join our growing renewable energy team. The Solar Surveyor will be responsible for conducting land and site surveys for solar panel installations, ensuring precise measurements, and collaborating closely with design, construction, and engineering teams. This role is pivotal in supporting the development of solar energy projects from initial site assessment through to construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct land and site surveys for solar projects using Topcon and Trimble GPS/GNSS equipment.
- Accurately capture topographic data, boundary lines, and site contours to ensure proper site planning.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to relay critical survey information and provide solutions.
- Prepare and deliver detailed survey reports, maps, and other documentation as required for design and permitting.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy in the survey results, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance of survey instruments.
- Perform site staking, layout, and elevation checks during construction.
- Analyze and interpret survey data to support project decisions.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of digital survey models and GIS databases.
- Comply with all company safety policies and site-specific safety requirements.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in surveying for solar projects or similar large-scale land development.
- Topcon and Trimble GPS/GNSS equipment is required.
- Strong understanding of land surveying principles, including boundary and topographic surveying.
- Experience with CAD software and other survey data management tools.
- Ability to analyze survey results and provide actionable data to engineering and construction teams.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory guidelines for solar site development.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Preferred: Certification or training in land surveying, engineering, or a related field.
Education & Experience:
- 3+ years of professional experience in surveying, with a focus on solar energy projects being a plus.
- Licensed surveyor or working toward licensure is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry survey equipment across rough terrain.
