The Role
As the JFR OFTO portfolio grows, we are looking for an in-house HVAC Service Engineer to join the team and ensure that systems function efficiently, safely, and reliably.
Your daily tasks can include fault finding, carrying out repairs, maintenance & services/ tests and installation/ upgrades of all aspects of the HVAC Systems across all OFTO sites. There may also be some installation work involved.
This role will be Home Based with travel to all OFTO sites.
Role Accountabilities
- Accurately calculate the cooling and heating load requirements to design an efficient system.
- Component Selection.
- Ensure that the design adheres to industry standards, codes, and regulations, particularly those related to high-voltage systems.
- Oversee or directly perform the installation of high voltage air-conditioning systems, ensuring all connections and components are correctly installed.
- System Testing.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to keep the HVAC system operating efficiently and to avoid high-voltage failures.
- Diagnostics and Repair.
- Safety and Risk Management.
- Establish and enforce safety protocols specific to working with high-voltage systems to protect personnel and equipment.
- Optimise the HVAC system for energy efficiency, ensuring that it operates at minimal energy consumption while meeting performance standards.
- Implement sustainable practices, such as using environmentally friendly refrigerants and ensuring that systems are designed to reduce their carbon footprint.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all system designs, installations, maintenance activities, and safety inspections.
- Ensure that all high-voltage systems comply with local, national, and international regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
- Clearly communicate system designs, benefits, and any potential issues to clients and stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and on-site personnel to ensure the system is operated and maintained correctly.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
- NVQ or City and Guilds in an HVAC related field
- HVAC Certification (F Gas Certificate)
- 18th Edition Electrical Qualification (desirable)
- Experience of working in industry specific role
- Clean full driving license
