Electric Vehicle Battery Technology & Application Expert
Huntsman have a rare opportunity for an enthusiastic EVB technology and application expert with a strong passion for new EV Battery business and profound understanding of battery technology to be based at our Regional Head Office in Shanghai, China.
Reporting into leader of EV Battery Center of Excellence you will responsible to support business growth and new PU technology innovation through the combination of EVB technology expertise and translating it into specific Polyurethane material opportunities in China. This is a highly strategic role where you will take accountability to drive and influence PU material global development and help define technology innovation portfolio for our strategic business area of EV Batteries. You will be working closely with global R&D and Strategic Marketing teams and be part of Global EV Battery Center of Excellence.
Requirements:
- Profound knowledge and understanding of EV battery pack technology and value chain players with focus on technology decision makers in China
- Clear track record of new technology development or/and implementation for EV Battery application. Knowledge of automotive standards and principals for design and manufacturing of EV batteries.
- Ability to identify and translate EV battery pack performance into specific material requirements leading to new material development or immediate business opportunity
- Degree qualified with previous experience in Technical/Engineering role with focus on EV battery design, development and/or manufacturing.
- Background in mechanical or electric engineering or chemical engineering.
- Experienced in influencing and engaging without direct line responsibility across all levels and functions within a matrix organization
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
Additionally, as the EVB technology and application expert, you will:
- Instrumental to build and widen relationships with China EV Battery value chain; identify key technology and material decision makers; help establish relationships and support NBD (new business development) team in opportunity validation and closure.
- Be key person to translate EV battery pack design, performance and manufacturing processes requirements into specific Polyurethane material performance required to meet those requirements
- Help identify specific innovation projects for PU materials which are focused on meeting EV battery requirements and entering new applications
- Contribute to cross functional teams of indirect reports on select high impact, new business development projects.
- Together with NBD team , secure opportunity planning, follow up according to milestones and timely progress
