Suburban Accessories is the country’s largest OEM accessories distributor. We sell and deliver GM and Ford accessories to authorized dealers across the Midwest and Florida. In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving a dedicated battery truck to sell batteries to both current and new accounts. Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding their battery needs, and providing solutions through our range of battery products.
Salary Overview:
The pay for this position will consist of salary and commission. The salary for this role starts at $40,000 per year.
Battery Truck Representative Responsibilities Include:
- Establish relationships with key contacts at each customer location to ensure that their needs are being satisfied and to resolve any special issues.
- Coordinate with local Sales and Operations Teams on methods and requirements to improve market penetration.
- Replenish the customer’s needs from the Battery Truck inventory.
- Rotate stock to ensure that batteries retain proper charge.
- Pickup battery cores for return.
- Replenish Battery Truck inventory and follow proper internal audit procedures to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Process paperwork to document sales, core returns, and any communication from customers.
- Review, analyze, and organize customer stops in a manner that enables the most efficient and cost-effective delivery operation.
- Ensure company equipment projects a positive market presence.
- Take a creative approach to identifying opportunities for new sales strategies, incentives/programs, and satisfying customer needs.
- Attend weekly calls hosted by the Sales Manager and collaborate.
- Collaborate with vendors on product knowledge to support training, as needed.
- Mastery of relevant SA tools implemented to support our business (Reynolds & Reynolds, NetSuite, Dayforce, Office365 [Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel], GM EPIC, GM ADS/eStore, MC Distributor, FAD Reporting, Ford DSS, and other relevant technology).
- Support and participate in Suburban Accessories’ continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback, alerting key stakeholders to issues, and being open to change.

Battery Truck Representative Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to pass the drug screen and background check.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam.
- Clean driving record to meet the insurance requirements.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have the capability to earn a Certified Forklift License.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an adequate driving record to pass company insurance guidelines.
- Must have a reliable method of transportation.
- Strong PC skills with a solid understanding of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Disciplined and routine-oriented, yet adaptable to change.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.
- Must have a favorable attendance record and be prompt and reliable.
- Previous automotive experience is preferred.
- 2–3 years of previous account management experience is preferred.
