The Opportunity
In response to the expansion of a new project delivery unit at CPP, we are actively searching for a Principal Engineer specialising in Secondary Design.
As CPP have a dedicated SCADA team, we are seeking an individual who will be responsible for circuity designs, protection schemes, and protection relays for our extra high-voltage substations and overhead lines. This role combines technical expertise and leadership responsibilities, directing the creation of top-tier designs for secondary high-voltage (HV) systems.
As a key member of our extensive in-house team, consisting of over 140 seasoned Engineers and Designers, you will engage in close collaboration with your colleagues, contributing to the advancement of secondary engineering excellence.
Leveraging your profound experience in High Voltage systems, you will be a pivotal figure within our team, significantly contributing to our various flagship projects here at CPP.
The successful applicant has the flexibility to work remotely from Tasmania or relocate to any of our CPP offices in NSW/QLD/VIC or SA. Relocation assistance is available for those willing relocate states.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years experience at a senior level with substation design and/or utility grid connections
- Leadership qualities and the ability to mentor others
- Strong knowledge of Australian industry standards
- High-level communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with MiCom, Digsilent, Power Factory, PSSE will be highly regarded
