Senior Consultant, Carbon Capture

As our new Senior Consultant in Carbon Capture, you will be part of our team in Singapore and wider APAC team of over 25 experts. You will be working on projects primarily in the APAC region, and potentially other international projects. Examples of work could be design review of technical documentation by Contractor’s in our Owner’s Engineer projects, preparation of technical documents for tender specifications, technical due diligences, red flag assessments, and feasibility studies.

The Opportunity
In the APAC region, we are servicing clients looking into carbon capture in hard-to-abate sectors such as steel and cement industries. In addition, we look to service clients in their decarbonization journey around the region, so experience in carbon markets, having a good understanding of the CCUS stakeholders (emitters, aggregators, regulators, etc.) in APAC and/or experience in oil & gas and LNG background would be advantageous to the success of this role.
As a part of our Carbon Capture team you will be contributing to several Carbon Capture projects – and supporting the management of projects led by other departments. An important part of the role of the team is to act as a “Thought Leader” – internally and externally - within the area. Additionally, you may be expected to engage in business development activities when required.

About the Role
Your key responsibilities and tasks could include – in close collaboration with colleagues and clients:
- Responsible for the technical aspects of Carbon Capture facilities, being heavily involved in the entire lifecycle including pre-feasibility, feasibility, pre-FEED, FEED, outline design, technical specifications for tender documents, evaluation of suppliers’ technical proposals, review of the suppliers’ designs, technical discussions etc.
- Lead technical due diligence of CCUS facilities
- To discuss process design options at conceptual level to identify the solutions that best suit the clients’ priorities and future developments.
- To conduct condition assessment of existing plants and discuss optimization possibilities.
- Participate in development activities within the competency area of Carbon Capture
About You
The following experience is highly desirable in this role:
- 5-10 years of experience, with project development experience in CCUS and/or an O&G LNG background, would be advantageous.
- Bachelors degree in Process/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, or higher within a relevant scientific/technical/ engineering field;
- Experience in a consulting role, conducting feasibility studies and due diligence, would be advantageous;
- Experience in understanding commercial aspects of CCUS would be advantageous, but not a necessity
- Strong technical acumen, professional experience and relevant domain knowledge;
- Project management experience from a similar role;
- Good at managing ambiguity, opportunities and risks;
- Customer-oriented and are characterized by a self-reliant, reliable and structured way of working;
- Intercultural competence and international experience;
- Strong communication skills both oral and written and an ability to communicate effectively with various level of management within the company and with potential clients, suppliers, subcontractors and partners;
- Prior business development experience would be advantageous, but not a necessity
- Excellent spoken and written English. Good language skills of languages around the APAC region would be an advantage, but not a requirement.
