JOB SUMMARY: This position is part of the Office of Management, Department of Energy. As a Facility Operations Specialist, you will be supporting planning and coordinating the facility operation and maintenance of the Department of Energy's buildings and grounds. MAJOR DUTIES: As the Facility Operations Specialist, you will: Perform detailed analysis of Headquarters buildings operating requirements for equipment, facilities and building alterations. Coordinate day-to-day operations and prepare work orders from requests for buildings maintenance, normal cleaning, and general facilities services. Liaison with the Procurement and Contracts staff for technical matters pertaining to the facility operation contracts. Perform Quality Assurance Inspections of some aspects of a large multi-million dollar per annum facilities management contract that includes operation and maintenance of building systems. Conduct periodic survey of concession operation to determine the adequacy and efficiencies of such operations and takes actions to improve these operations. Prepare progress, inspection and status reports requiring continuous walking, standing, climbing stairs and ladders and light lifting up to 50 lbs.
