JOB SUMMARY: This position is part of the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, Department of Energy. As a Supervisory Contract Specialist, you will assist the SBA's assigned representative and be technically trained in contracting and acquisition, and familiar with the supplies or services contracted for by the activity. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Supervisory Contract Specialist, you will: Evaluates acquisitions and contracts to ensure that opportunities for small businesses are identified and included whenever feasible. Oversees the collection process for forecasting contracting opportunities, guaranteeing a polished and up-to-date document is provided quarterly. Represents the supervisor at conferences and meetings with key government and industry stakeholders to formulate strategies, tackle overarching program requirements, and address issues that affect any or all facets of the designated support areas. Assesses the effectiveness of supervised operations based on mission success, quality and quantity standards, policy compliance, and technical skills. Ensures that negotiations on contracting and small business issues stay focused and achieve consensus among differing interests.
