Job Description
This position will be responsible for creating and maintain master vendor data in the Oracle financial system, following established internal controls, processes and segregation of duties. In addition, this position will be primarily responsible for supporting the Financial Operations department for data review, support and maintenance activities.
- Timely and accurate creation of new vendors utilizing established procedures with inputs from various points of contact and departments across NREL.
- Update and maintain existing vendor records as requested following established guidelines and procedures.
- Data support activities, including responding to requests for credit applications, completing forms for sponsorship, and complying with electronic and paper data/records management and document retention requirements from the Department of Energy.
- Act as a backup for multiple data -related duties necessary to maintain appropriate segregation of duties within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer.
- Other duties as needed.

Basic Qualifications
Either relevant Associate degree/certification program and 2 years experience or
High School diploma plus 4 years relevant experience. Demonstrated understanding of accounting practices and procedures. Proficient in analytical techniques and problem solving skills. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in a team environment with a variety of internal and external customers. Basic skills in personal computers, electronic accounting systems, and spreadsheets (Excel). A highly organized, detail-oriented person is required.

Additional Required Qualifications
- High School diploma plus 4 years related experience or AA plus 2 years related experience.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and multi-task between processing, research, ad hoc projects, and other duties as assigned.
- Be independently motivated to solve problems.
- Able to apply professional skepticism and independently verify authenticity of vendor requests.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with contacts at all levels.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel (i.e. pivot tables and formulas).
- Strong work ethic including attendance, dependability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with Oracle Financial Applications or other integrated ERP business systems.
- Prior government contractor experience.

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)
Job Profile: Specialist III / Annual Salary Range: $42,700 - $68,300
NREL takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, a potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
