Wood is recruiting for a Senior Carbon Advisory Consultant. This is an exciting opportunity within our Carbon Advisory team.
The Carbon Advisory Team sits across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will support clients in achieving their aims to reduce their carbon impact. This opportunity would be ideal for individuals with an engineering or environmental background, who are keen to continue and expand their career in a fast paced consulting environment. The Role
Our Senior Carbon Advisory Consultants support clients by providing proven agile decarbonisation solutions to ensure targets are met. Our consultants will develop a systematic framework for the management of decarbonisation including defining overarching strategies, plans & detailed roadmaps with key milestones, journey enablers, timeframes, drivers and identifying on-route threats, risks, and uncertainties.
In addition, as a Senior Consultant, you will partake in securing new work for the business, support in the management of a small team of consultants and engineers,. You will also support clients in completing baselining and lifecycle assessments, supporting with the creation of Decarbonisation roadmaps, providing guidance on International & Regional Policies and assessing climate related physical risks.
We have a library of training material for carbon advisory services and a companywide Energy Transition academy to support in your growth and that you will also be able to add to.
You will have the opportunity to mentor and support with the development of other consultants within the team, ensuring the knowledge and experience you have is shared to support in the future of the team and industry.

ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:
- Supporting business winning and leading proposals to secure new work
- Managing small teams of consultants and engineers or other technical staff on studies, setting clear technical direction and ensuring timely issue of deliverables
- Completing work to a high standard and with little to no supervision, using Wood and Client methods, standards, and data in line with requirements
- Disseminating knowledge and expertise to team members and providing oversight and technical direction for their study / project work
- Developing business relationships with clients and partnerships with in-house consulting teams
- Representing the Carbon Advisory team in technical presentations to external and internal customers
- Providing a technical interface and managing relationships with clients. Proactively identifying most internal and external customer needs or issues
- Raising awareness of the business environment, market and on-going innovation in technology and research in climate-related subjects and issues
- Developing tools and methods to improve the efficiency and quality of work performed by the team
- Liaising with and supporting the Business Manager in tracking study/ project activities

Expected:
- Masters Degree (or higher) in Process Engineering, Engineering Science, or a technical environmental/ sustainable development related subject
- Demonstrated ability to lead business development and project teams
- Demonstrated proficiency in international best practices in energy and carbon efficiency
- A thorough understanding of the international policy and economic frameworks driving climate change agendas
- A good understanding of carbon emissions quantification, decarbonization techniques, circular carbon economy, energy transition
- Strong analytical skills and can systematically break a complex task into more manageable parts and identify the critical components of a problem
- Excellent communications skills both verbally and written Demonstrable high-quality report writing and presentation skills
- Good organisational and project management skills
- Keen to learn and to share learning with others
Desirable:
- Demonstrable background in decarbonisation studies and/or life cycle assessments
- Experience in assisting clients to map energy and fuel usage and associated carbon equivalent emissions
- Experience in assisting clients to identify and screen emissions reduction opportunities
- Chartered to an internationally recognised Professional body (or working towards)
- Good negotiation skills
