OUR VISION

Sanctu's mission is to nurture the Amazon and its while while bnringing prosperity to local communities. Small farms in the Amazon have lost forest area equivalent to the size of Germany, predominantly to low-productivity cattle farming, with half a million families who live on less than US$250 per month. Sanctu's platform harnesses the collective power of these low-income farmers and turn them into Guardians. The platform assists them in transforming their degraded land into native and biodiverse forests, and monetizing this by selling origin-controlled bioproducts and high-integrity carbon credits. Sanctu's potential is immense – by restoring only 5% of small farms in the Amazon, it aims to create a US$2bn revenue generational business, while simultaneously multiplying Guardians' income ten-fold

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are assembling the best team on Earth to tackle one of the world's toughest problems. In that context, we are looking for a Head of Carbon to help us navigate complex certification efforts in the most efficient and scalable way, combining high-integrity with agility.

REQUIRED SKILLS

In addition to a vast and hands-on experience writing at least 10+ PDDs (Project Design Documents) for Verra or similar entity, you must be able to:

Be fluent in English and Portuguese
Understand the basics of different reforestation techniques, from seeds and seedlings to natural regeneration (and how they impact a PDD)
Know in detail Verra's newest ARR (Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation) methodology (from land eligibility to carbon certification implications)
Be able to write a full PDD document from scratch for a new Restoration project
Identify parts of the PDD-writing process that can be automated with Sanctu's data
Be able to talk to Certifiers and VVBs independently
