Summary
You will serve as a Park Guide with National Park Service. This is a temporary promotion not to exceed 120 days.
Major Duties
As a Park Guide, you will perform the following duties: Provides information and visitor services. This includes trip planning, general questions and directions, and cash register sales and remitting for a partner-operated bookstore. Presents informal and formal interpretative programs to include guided walks (of up to 50 people), talks, and demonstrations. Aids in the planning and coordination of park-wide events and special programs. Assists training lower-graded staff and volunteers. Answers a wide variety of visitor questions. Performs crowd control at entrances and visitor center. Maintains property inventory. Provides public orientation and explanations of current park events and informs visitors of potential safety hazards. Provides a wide range of services to visitors, including assistance with lost articles, car trouble, and first aid; and provides information about weather conditions, highway routes, park and concessioner facilities, and prices.
