JOB TITLE: Quantity Surveyor
DEPARTMENT: Commercial Department
REPORTING TO: Commercial Manager
LOCATION: Ballycoolin, Dublin 15
Job Summary
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the day to day tracking of the project financials and in monitoring cost control as directed by the Commercial Manager.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting in all surveying, estimating & purchasing duties associated with the assigned projects
- Cost Control on all aspects of work carried out on assigned projects
- Completion of weekly measures to allow accurate financial reviews to be completed
- Liaise with client representatives and resolve any queries in a timely manner
- Assisting in implementing cost saving measures
- Analysing Supplier / Plant selection
- Update internal management system as appropriate
- Assisting with management of job cost control and budget estimates using existing internal management system
- Agree measures with sub-contractors
- Preparation of Final Accounts and agreement with suppliers and sub-contractors
- Prepare quotations for work as required
Skills & Experience Required:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the telecoms / utility sectors
- Previous exposure to mobile telecoms sector an advantage
- Ability to effectively interact with team members, senior management and clients
- Process driven and the ability to review and implement required changes
- Attention to detail and the ability to deliver on a right first time basis
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Strong commercial acumen
