Commercial Truck Driver – Part Time

Job description

Skagit River Steel & Recycling, Inc., part of the ABC Recycling group of companies, is looking for a reliable part-time Commercial Truck Driver based out of our Burlington, Washington location.

In this role, you will operate commercial vehicles to haul scrap metal to and from customer locations and our Skagit Valley facility. Occasional travel to other ABC Recycling locations or partner companies may be required.

The ideal candidate has a clean driving record, commercial driving experience, and a strong commitment to safe, professional service.

Responsibilities

· Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

· Safely operate assigned commercial vehicles in accordance with all applicable laws and company policies.

· Transport and secure scrap metal loads safely.

· Follow dispatch instructions and meet scheduled pick-up and delivery requirements.

· Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and team members.

· Complete daily logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.

· Follow all commercial driving, safety, and load-securement procedures.

Qualifications

· Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.

· Clean driving record.

· Previous commercial driving experience required; 3–4 years preferred.

· Experience operating box trucks and/or delivery trucks required.

· Experience with front-load, roll-off, end-dump, or semi-trucks is an asset.

· Experience in scrap metal recycling, hauling, construction, or demolition is an asset.

· Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and maintain accurate daily documentation.

· Clean driving record, criminal record, and drug and alcohol test is required.

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
