Location of Position
This position is a fully remote position, with a hybrid work schedule of 2 in-office days highly encouraged if located near our NYC or Buffalo office locations.

Position Summary
The Vice President Business Development Offtake Origination, reporting to the President and Head of Business Development, is a high-profile position that will drive the company’s growth as a leading Independent Power Producer. This individual will work across the company and focus on developing and executing the offtake strategy, with a focus on securing corporate, non-utility and MUSH offtake structures for the CleanCapital pipeline. The position is responsible for building a strategic plan for the U.S. market and executing on the plan by managing and growing key relationships with large, strategic customers, consultants, and aggregators. The Vice President will work across all business units, including business development, development, finance and deals to develop clean energy solutions that enable our strategic customers to meet their sustainability goals via PPAs or other types of corporate investments. Experience with growing strategic partnerships, virtual power purchase agreement negotiations, comfort, and experience with being the face of the company at customer meetings with an enthusiasm to build customer solutions, a strong knowledge of renewable project development, and customer relationship management is a must.
Core Responsibilities
Lead the build out and implement CleanCapital’s go-to-market strategy to attract, sell, and close clean energy power purchase agreements (and/or other contractual instruments) with large, non-utility offtakers.
Creatively solve barriers to closing customer origination, such as (but not limited to), creating new contracting mechanisms, driving solutions for the 24/7 and Emissions-First customer communities, elevating the value-proposition of CC’s projects’ social and environmental attributes.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or equivalent professional experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
Technical Skills and Experience
10+ years' experience in energy sales (preferably at a renewable energy IPP, but open to energy sales at a utility or non-renewable IPP), consulting, or energy procurement at a large energy user.
History of working across teams, including engineering, finance, marketing, and strategy.
Psychosocial Skills /Human Skills/Behavioral Skills
Exceptional verbal and writing communication skills with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders.
