As Engineering Manager Pega your primary focus will be on the development and career growth of our Pega developers and the enhancement of the software delivery performance and technical capabilities of our Pega feature teams.
This is an off-hands role where you will not be expected to contribute actively to our code bases. Nevertheless, a willingness to familiarize yourself with Pega low-code technology and the Pega Express Delivery approach is expected.

- Lead, mentor, coach and manage a team of skilled Pega developers, fostering their professional growth and career development.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, goal setting, and feedback conversations.
- Play an active role in promotions and performance management of your direct reports.
- Monitor and manage your people’s well-being, workload, and stress levels.
- Foster a safe, innovative and inclusive environment that encourages continuous improvement.
- Align closely with the POs and other stakeholders to help improve collaboration in your team.
- Collaborate closely with our chapter lead and your fellow EMs to build an engineering chapter with top-tier PEGA expertise and delivery performance in the market.
- Drive our hiring processes to attract, hire, and retain top Pega talent.
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with Pega low-code technology and the Pega Express Delivery approach for rapid application development.

- Leadership: Experience managing people and leading software engineering teams.

- Software development: Technical background and proficiency in multiple programming languages. Experience with low-code technology like Pega is a plus.
- Agile: Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.
- Remote work: Effective at asynchronous communication and leading a remote or hybrid team.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Hiring: Experience recruiting and onboarding engineering talent.
- Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and improve the status quo.
- Coaching: Interest or experience in applying coaching techniques to management.
