HDI Global is recruiting for two talented Risk Engineers for our market leading Risk Engineering team – HDI Risk Consulting (HRC).

Risk Engineer, Renewables. Particular project focus is Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Wind. Ideally a degree in renewable energy or electrical engineering.

Risk Engineer, Property. Particular project focus is reducing fire risks in manufacturing and industrial facilities.
HRC has a track record servicing wide-ranging and diverse market sectors. You can expect to participate in landmark, high profile projects covering Hydropower, Solar, BESS, Wind, Transportation, mixed-use Building developments, Industrial, FMCG, Chemical and Process/Mining. The role requires the successful candidates to travel approximately 50 days per year within Australia to conduct site surveys.

You should have strong experience or interest in the following areas:
- Loss prevention engineering/consultancy services.
- Evaluation and subsequent risk reporting of property hazards (i.e. fire/explosion risks, natural catastrophe, business interruption, climate risk).
- Identifying and quantifying exposures at industrial properties or renewable energy sites.
- Assessing adequacy & operational functionality of protection systems.
- Evaluating client’s in-house loss prevention program.
- Consulting with client's senior management to reduce fire risks.
- Desktop review of insurance submissions and risk reports for underwriting purposes.
The positions can be based in either our Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane offices and we encourage applications from engineers across Australia.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
- 2+ years’ experience in fire / safety or renewables engineering (overlapping/related sector).
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience in technical report writing and delivering technical presentations, with the ability to communicate and engage with non-technical audiences.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.
- Ability to develop and maintain successful client relationships.
- Ability to work in a global environment.
- Willingness to travel.
- Australian Citizenship preferred (not explicitly required - international applicants with demonstrated experience welcomed to apply).
Salary and Benefits:
On offer is a generous salary package including bonus to 10% plus hybrid work conditions – 2 days a week working from home if desired.
