DescriptionThe Global Sustainability Offshore Renewable Energy Lead will lead and grow the team's strategic activities around the industry’s offshore renewable energy efforts. The Lead's primary role is to serve as the subject matter expert regarding offshore renewable energy to our clients and employees.
What You Will Do:
- Maintain a solid understanding of emerging regulatory frameworks related to the offshore energy transition.
- Understand the role that offshore renewable energy technologies play in the industry's decarbonization efforts and support the department's activities in these sectors.
- Perform market research, business analysis, and data analysis in the fields of renewable energy, GHG reduction, and offshore technology applications, as directed.
- Provide clients with technical support for planning and developing wind farm concepts and projects.
- Participate in business development activities. Build relationships and manage interfaces with clients, contributing to scaling up our offshore wind activities.
- Tracking renewable energy industry biodiversity impacts
- Lead and support the preparation of proposals.
- Support the department's different projects, services, and other activities.
- Conduct seminars and workshops, as well as attend industry events and conferences related to offshore renewable energy technologies and their applications to the offshore industry.
- Contribute to authoring ABS publications and thought leadership documents.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or recognized equivalent) in a field related to offshore renewable energy.
- Master's degree or higher welcomed.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related practical experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of offshore renewable energy technologies (i.e., wind, solar, etc.)
- Knowledge of offshore renewable energy project development and construction.
- Understanding of the methodology and processes used in wind and solar energy analysis.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen interest in renewable energy and decarbonization for the offshore sector.
- Strong project management skills, good organizational skills, and effective time management skills, as you may be required to handle multiple projects.
- Must possess excellent communication skills both orally and in writing. Must be capable of presenting and working with clients.
- Must be able to travel.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System or ability to learn it.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to the Director of Sustainability.
Environmental Conditions:
Work will normally be performed in an air-conditioned office environment. Occasionally, the candidate will be required to visit manufacturing plants, remote field sites, or go aboard marine vessels or structures. Work will be non-manual, but the candidate must be able to walk and climb among equipment and structures. Occasionally may have to lift between 5‒15 pounds.
